The National Eagle Repository

The National Eagle Repository was established in 1974 to provide Bald and Golden Eagle carcasses and feathers to Native Americans throughout the United States. These eagles are for use in traditional, cultural and religious ceremonial activities. In addition, various hawks and other migratory birds are collected at the repository and requested for this purpose.
Anyone requesting an eagle or feathers must register with the repository and provide proof of membership in a tribe. The repository currently maintains over 4,000 individuals on a waiting list for these birds with a wait of approximately 2 1/2 years due to a limited supply of birds.
